CSR Advisory Council Meeting
A meeting of the Corporate Social Responsibility Advisory Council of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy was held at the MLSP on 13 September 2017. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Sultanka Petrova.
Mr Alexey Andreev, Director of the EU Affairs and International Cooperation Directorate to the MLSP, outlined the priorities given to employment and social policy by the forthcoming Bulgarian presidency of the EU Council. Key among them are entrepreneurship development and new jobs creation, the ESF support opportunities after the Programming Period 2014-2020, policies on the future labour market, early childhood development policies, and policies aiming the inclusion of people with disabilities as equal members of society.
Social entrepreneurship development is also widely embedded in the priorities of the Bulgarian presidency of the EU Council in 2018. A meeting of Ministers of the EU Member States on this topic is planned by the MLSP for April 2018. As part of the events related to the Bulgarian presidency next year, a joint European conference of EASPD and NASO was discussed to be held in Varna in June, as well as a Social Entrepreneurship Forum in Plovdiv in March or April.
The second item on the agenda was the drawing up of a new strategy for the CSR development. The MLSP is expected to prepare a draft strategy by the end of March 2018. The Ministry’s work on this topic was presented by Mr Peter Nachev, Director of the Strategic Planning and Demographic Policy Directorate.
