The Third Nesebar with No Limits International Disability Festival was held in Nesebar from 30 August to 1 September 2017, organized by Nesebar Municipality, Bulgarian-Kazakh Association for Support and Integration of People with Disabilities, and Centre for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities (Karaganda, Kazakhstan). More than 120 participants from Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan joined the event, as well as members and representatives of NASO from across the country.
The festival was opened by the mayor of Nesebar Municipality, Nikolay Dimitrov. who stressed that the festival was becoming more popular each year attracting new supporters. Mincho Koralski, CEO of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, congratulated the attendees and said that the festival had already become one of the emblems of Nesebar. NASO President Georgi Georgiev also took part in the opening of the event, whose organisation was supported by the National Alliance.
The festival’s idea is to give persons with disabilities having talents for performing arts the opportunity of showing that there are no boundaries and limits for arts. The festival aims to facilitate the social integration and inclusion processes for persons with disabilities by means of the impacts of culture and arts, and its mission is to provide talented people with disabilities with a scene of self-expression and to encourage the development of their creative potential.
The festival is very exciting and evokes positive emotions. “Nesebar Municipality will continue organizing it because we think there is a growing interest in the event. We are considering expanding it by inviting participants from other European countries”, commented Ms Radostina Pireva, Director of Social Welfare and Services Department at Nesebar Municipality and a NASO representative for the region.
