NASO took part in 1st World Conference on Supported Employment
The 1st World Conference on Supported Employment: “Employment for All — A Global Perspective” took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, 14 to 16 June 2017, hosted by the European Union of Supported Employment (EUSE) and the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD). The conference was attended by over 700 social service providers, NGOs, representatives of the business sector and the education sector, as well as persons with disabilities from Canada, Australia, China, and countries across Europe.
The programme included presentations, panel discussions and workshops for small groups on supported employment related topics. The conference aimed to exchange experience, share best practices, outline the different approaches and ways of implementing supported employment in Europe and in the world.
The President of the National Alliance for Social Responsibility Georgi Georgiev took part in three workshops on the Economic Impact of Inclusion in the Open Labour Market for Persons with Disabilities, the Impact of Supported Employment on the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities, and Self-Esteem of Persons with Disabilities in Business Environment.
