NASO gave its Annual Awards for contribution to social development in Bulgaria
The NASO Annual Awards for contribution to the social development in Bulgaria were given at a gala dinner within the National Forum & Exhibition on Social Services, Employment, Development on 7 June 2017. The winners of the Grand Award for contribution to the social development in Bulgaria were Vratsa Municipality in Municipalities category and Agency for Social Development Vision in NGOs category. The gala dinner celebrated the 20th anniversary of Agency Vision, the founder of NASO and the first Bulgarian member organisation of the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD). The award of Vratsa Municipality was given to the NASO representative for Vratsa Galya Tsvetanova and the award of Agency Vision was given to its President Zhaneta Georgieva.
Awards for social engagement and best practices went to Lovech Municipality for its long-term work in the social sector. A new and different award was bestowed on Razgrad Municipality for its contribution to the popularization and promotion of the social worker profession.
Support for Implementation Foundation — Vidin was awarded for their active national and international partnership. It actively works to promote and initiate new regional partnerships and collaborations between NASO and organisations from neighboring countries.
Assistive Technology Foundation received a prize for promoting innovation in social services. The Foundation actively works to promote communication technology for people with disabilities.
The Social Worker's Club at Angel Kunchev University of Ruse was awarded for establishing a link between education and practice in social work.
Awards for personal contribution to the development of national partnership and social services went to three directors of directorates responsible for social services in the municipalities of Burgas, Plovdiv and Ruse. They were awarded for their long-term active and fruitful collaboration with NASO in social services development and their involvement in the cooperation between municipalities, NGOs, and service providers.
Awards for personal contribution to the development of national partnership and social services were given to four representatives of NASO for the first time.
This year’s award in Social Services category went to Centre for Public Support — Burgas, headed by Maria Atanasova, NASO representative for the region. The award was given for best practices and interinstitutional cooperation.
Award for personal contribution to the development of corporate social responsibility went to Svetlomir Ivanov, CEO of ChOI Ltd. for his longstanding commitment to social issues and partnership with NASO network.
