Second partnership meeting of NEWSCAT project within National Forum & Exhibition — Varna 2017
The second partnership meeting of the New Skills for Customized Accessible Tourism Project (NEWSCAT) took place at Golden Sands Resort on 8-9 June 2017 as part of the programme of the National Forum & Exhibition. The project is aimed at increasing the competencies of professionals of the tourist sector to provide accessible tourism services for clients with special needs.
The meeting was moderated by Ibon Garmendia Ansola from Fundacion Emplea (Spain), the project coordinator, and hosted by NASO. Representatives of the other project partners — Mestieri Lombardia (Italy), NHTV (Netherlands), EASPD (Belgium), ENAT (Belgium), LATMIL (Latvia) and ATB (Spain) also took part in the event.
The main focus of attention at the meeting was the planning of the follow-up activities set in the project implementation; the partners discussed a proposal on the development of guidelines on assistance methodologies for Customised Accessible Tourism, the planning of a design and structure of Professional Profile and Competence Model, the designing of an online training course for tourism professionals, as well as a strategy for dissemination of the project results.
The project partners drew up a schedule for completing the above-mentioned tasks and set a date for the next partnership meeting in Breda, Netherlands, to be held on March 1-2, 2018.
At the end of the event the participants expressed their satisfaction with the excellent work done and the follow-up tasks planned.
