NASO members participated in social entrepreneurship conference
On April 15 and 16, 2016 the New Bulgarian University in the city of Sofia hosted a conference on "Social Entrepreneurship - good practices and educational prospects", organized by the department of Philosophy and Sociology, MA Program on Social Entrepreneurship and with the support of the Central Fund of Strategic Development to the Board of the Curricul Fund at MA Faculty. The two-day public conference gathered students, speakers and social business representatives.
Members of National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) made key presentations on the topic. Social Services Complex "St. George" - Provdiv presented its laboratory and greenhouse of tissue cultures for the production of seedlings. Concordia Foundation presented its practices in the development of socially responsible business and difficulties along the way and ways to overcome them. Uspeh SSB Holding Ltd - Varna showed out their practice of ensuring employment for people with visual disabilities in the manufacture of wiring devices. Targovishte Association for Mental Health presented a model of promising practices for employment of persons with mental disorders. Civil Initiatives Association – Lovech presented their activities on development and upgrade of social services aimed at employment of persons at risk. National Alliance for Volunteer Activities presented a model of social enterprise.
The aim of the conference was the presentation and promoting social entrepreneurship as an opportunity for sustainable solutions to specific social challenges related to the dignified inclusion of people with different needs on the labor market.
